Maria is the heart and soul of Atown. Record store clerk by day, Cd reviewer/music columnist and photographer by night. Her Grandmother passed away in 1999, leaving her the large old house in Atown's East Side where she and the main characters live. She lives the rock and roll lifestyle at night, and struggles with the deeper meanings of life during the day.
Sean Delaney
Sean is a Canadian farm boy and new arrival to Atown. He's an aspiring bass player, and hopes to play hockey for the minor league Atown Ice Rats. Sean is reluctant to work a regular job, and has trouble keeping one. For some reason Maria feels sorry for him and takes him in.
Endo Teppanyaki
Endo is an American born Japanese chef, professional beer swiller and football fanatic. Endo is constantly giving people sh*t about anything and everything. Endo met Maria because she has a habit of treating touring rock bands to an entertaining Japanese dinner where he works.
Shuman
Shuman is a computer geek at the corner repair store. In his room he has the ultimate hot rodded Internet experience. He's been the top dungeon master on the east side since 1984. He lacks social skills and physical hygiene, but he is a brilliant encyclopedia of trivial knowledge. Nobody knows if "Shuman" is his first or last name, or just his user name. He has rarely been known to consume anything other than Dr. Pepper and double cheese/double pepperoni pizza. He only drinks beer if Endo calls him a big fat wus.
Risa Riley
Risa- short for "Theresia," works with Maria at Atown Records, and is her best friend. They are so close the guys tease them about being lesbians, but that has never been proven. Risa has a limitless knowledge of the music world, and is constantly debating music with Maria and the customers. Risa is the concience and moral compas of Atown. When things get deep, she usually has the right answers.
